Courtland Williams is an associate attorney with Plog & Stein, P.C.  Like all other attorneys at the firm, Courland dedicates 100 percent of his practice to family law cases, including divorce, child custody, parenting time, and child support matters.   Attorney Williams made the decision several years ago that family law was the area in which he felt he could make the most positive impact in people’s lives, on an individual basis.  He believes that focusing exclusively on one area of the law has allowed him to develop exceptional skills for representing his clients, both in and out of the courtroom.   Whether dealing with a divorce with complex financial issues or representing a client fighting for time with their children.  Courtland finds personal satisfaction in obtaining the best possible outcomes for his clients and their families.   As a skilled litigator and negotiator, Plog & Stein is fortunate to have Mr. Williams as part of our family law team.

Courtland has been an attorney practicing law since 2013. He started in California, where he attended the University of San Diego for both his undergraduate degree and law school. He moved to Colorado in 2015, becoming licensed here in 2016.  Attorney Williams has been exclusively practicing family law since 2017. Over the course of his legal career, he has worked at firms of different sizes, from very small to large firms with over 100 attorneys.

Courtland was born in Denver, Colorado but grew up in California. He attended the University of San Diego where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree and double majored in History and Political Science with a minor in Philosophy. During college, Courtland was on a prelaw track, taking multiple courses on the subject. After graduating college, he took a year off to work for a San Diego class action derivative law firm where his passion for law continued. The next year Courtland attended the University of San Diego School of Law’s night program where he was able to both work and attend law school. He transferred to the day program the next year and was still able to graduate on time by taking extra courses during the year and studying abroad one summer in Ireland and Italy. Courtland worked as an attorney in San Diego for two years. After 14 years in San Diego, he moved back to Denver, Colorado.

In his personal life, Courtland enjoys hiking outdoors, watching nearly all sports, investing, and collecting comic books.
