Sarah T. McCain
"I am committed to helping you make the best decisions for your family and financial future."
Sarah McCain is a senior associate with Plog & Stein, P.C., solely practicing family law. Sarah started with the firm in 2006 in a paralegal capacity. Upon passing the Colorado bar in 2007, she immediately started building her own caseload. Having now been with the firm for almost a decade, Sarah has proven herself to be a valuable asset to not only the firm, but most importantly her clients. She has dealt with simple and complex aspects of divorce, child custody, child support, parenting time, restraining orders, grandparent visitation, post-decree modifications, step-parent adoption, and many other family law matters. As a result of her years of practicing family law, Sarah has developed impeccable skills when it comes to dealing with complex marital estates and other financial issues such as maintenance (spousal support). She loves a challenge in and out of the courtroom and prides herself on obtaining results for her clients.
Sarah has spent the entirety of her post law school legal career practicing family law in Colorado. She thrives on getting her clients the judgments and orders they deserve through her expertise and knowledge of the legal system. She feels that attorney-client communication is paramount in achieving the client’s objectives. Likewise, she believes in thorough preparation for each and every court hearing for the benefit of her clients. Moreover, Sarah understands the benefits that flow to the clients from having a good rapport with the family law courts in the community.
Sarah McCain was born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan. She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate and graduate degrees, obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the Broad College of Business and her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University’s College of Law. She also received valuable legal training while in law school. She worked at Legal Services of South Central Michigan focusing on domestic violence cases and at the Eaton County Prosecutor’s Office.
Before visiting the gorgeous state of Colorado, Sarah was determined to work as an attorney in Michigan, where she began practicing in 2006. However, shortly after her first visit to the Rocky Mountain state, she decided that it was time for a change in her legal setting. Merely a few weeks after returning to Michigan, Sarah packed up all of her belongings and headed out for Colorado, where she worked as a law clerk until passing the February 2007 Bar Examination. Sarah is also licensed in Michigan and is one of three Plog & Stein attorneys licensed in multiple jurisdictions.
Sarah enjoys helping her clients on the weekdays and spending time with her family on the weekends. Her family includes her husband, Max, her daughters, Sabrina, Bridget, and her two dogs, Julio and Suki. They like to spend their time at the dog park and recreation center, and also watching Big Ten football and basketball.
