Attorney Kimberly N. Moreno joins Plog & Stein, P.C. as a seasoned attorney in the field of family law. She strives to be a zealous advocate for her clients in their divorce and child-related cases. Attorney Moreno’s approach is to gain an understanding of each of her client’s goals so that she can provide them with all of their options and possible outcomes. She believes that her clients are the best decision makers in their cases because every decision made is going to affect their lives. Kimberly believes her role is to provide her clients with options and strategies and the legal knowledge to make those informed decisions.
As an experienced family law attorney, Kimberly has litigated and settled an array of both simple and complex divorce cases. In the role of a negotiator, she works hard to settle each case with a favorable outcome for her client. As a skilled litigator, Kimberly thoroughly prepares for trial in those instances where settlement cannot be reached.
Attorney Moreno has always wanted to give people a voice in the legal system, which drove her decision to pursue a career in law. Helping people navigate the court system and assist in getting them a fair and reasonable outcome that they will be happy with has always been her goal. While in law school, Kimberly interned at the Women’s Bar Foundation, assisting clients with their family law cases. In her third year of law school, she worked in the family law clinic, as a student attorney.
After graduating Suffolk Law School in Boston, Kimberly began working with DOVE, a multidisciplinary domestic violence organization, where as an attorney she represented victims of domestic violence in their cases involving high conflict custody, child support, parenting time, contempt of court, and removal cases. Kimberly was also extremely active within the organization, running monthly workshops, attending quarterly roundtables with other legal services agencies, and attending Family Law Task Force meetings.
Following her work with DOVE, Kimberly continued her family law practice with Sugarman Rogers, a prestigious law firm in Boston, where she dealt with cases involving more complex division of assets and discovery disputes. She also began working as a volunteer attorney through the Volunteer Lawyer’s Project, where she helped provide legal assistance to pro-se litigants in family law matters, on a limited representation basis.
Choosing to move to Colorado, Kimberly joined a local family law firm to continue her family law practice. Her cases have involved all aspects of family law. Family law is Kimberly’s passion, and she has been in this field throughout her legal career because she wants to help people through one of the most difficult times in their lives. She is compassionate, yet an aggressive advocate for her clients.
Now practicing with Plog& Stein, P.C., Kimberly is a valued member of our legal team. While Kimberly primarily works out of our Greenwood Village office, she handles in all Denver metropolitan area courts.
When she is not advocating on behalf of her clients, Kimberly likes to enjoy all that Colorado has to offer while spending time with her family. Kimberly is licensed to practice law in both Massachusetts and Colorado.
