Daniel F. Martin comes to Plog & Stein, P.C. with a strong litigation background. Before joining the firm, his primary area of legal practice has been serving the people of Colorado as a Deputy District Attorney. Seeking a change to the private sector, Daniel (Dan) believed he wanted to focus on an area of law in which he could help people on a one-on-one basis. To him, family law just made sense.
As with the other Plog & Stein, P.C. attorneys, Dan’s caseload consists solely of representing clients with divorce, child custody, and other family law cases. He understands the importance of helping people through uncertain times and strives to make a positive impact wherever possible. Through his years as a deputy district attorney, Dan gained an abundance of courtroom and trial experience, including representing the state in various complex criminal cases, such as attempted murder, robbery, and other crimes of violence. Given his background, he is attuned to the array of feelings and emotions people have in stressful situations, including domestic violence cases. Regardless of the circumstances, Dan cares about his clients and the quality of his work. As the newest member of the Plog & Stein, P.C. legal team, he’s ready to put his experience to work for his clients as he fights for their rights.
I pride myself on leading people through difficult times in their lives with compassion and understanding.
Dan was born in Texas, but grew up in various parts of the country and the world. This included spending part of his childhood in Thailand. He ultimately finished high school in Colorado. Having a parent in the legal profession sparked Dan’s interest in the law. Before law school, he attended Tulane University, in New Orleans, where he obtained a Bachelor’s of Science degree in both business finance and legal studies. From there, he attended law school at Vanderbilt University Law School, obtaining his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in 2013. During law school, Dan started developing his courtroom skills through mock trial and moot court competitions.
Upon finishing law school, Dan headed back home to Colorado. His legal career started with working for the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s office in Colorado Springs. While there, he conducted dozens of trials. His work ethic and attention to detail helped him work his way up to more significant cases. To be closer to family, Dan moved up to the Denver area, where he worked for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s office for the four years prior to joining Plog & Stein, P.C.
Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his family. He also loves playing sports or spending time in the mountains snowboarding. Dan also enjoys watching a wide array of movies. Most of all, he enjoys cheering for the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos (and sometimes Dallas Cowboys).
